Did a search but no luck - I was wondering if you change the battery on the C6 as to whether the radio will be asking for a security code? I don't remember getting one from the dealer and the reason I ask is because I just changed the battery on my wife's car (Accord) and I almost didn't find the code to unlock the radio.
Your Vin is your code. The Radio is programmed for your VIN.
If you sold your radio for example or it is stolen.. a dealer visit is required.
The VIN of the car is tied to the radio, inversely, the information about the radio is tied to the car. What this means is that if you separate the radio and the car by selling your radio or buying a new radio your radio will not work in another Corvette without a trip to the dealer nor will the new radio you try to install in your Corvette work without a trip to the dealer. The procedure is really only about a five minute exercise to initialize the radio and register it to the car using the Tech II scanner.
Disconnecting the battery will have no affect on the operation of the radio once electrical power is restored. The memory where the security information is stored is non-volatile and it will not be lost with a power disconnect.
