Default Adding steering wheel controls

Hi guys, I got a corvette without the steering wheel controls. Is it possible for me to add it? How difficult would it be?

When I had an '06 I though I'd do the same as you. Now I have a '07 and I never use them. It is just as easy to reach the radio. Besides, they are on the right side of the wheel, making them less convenient. Adding them will be a great waste of money as many components are required.

At a minimum you'll need a new wire harness from the wheel to the computer to allow connection and the controls for the wheel. I believe that you will also you will need a new head unit that can work with the controls. I don't believe that they are backward compatible (software) but I don't know of an upgrade path to get the new firmware for an older radio.

A lot of work and likely a lot of money.

I plan on using a aftermarket deck with the pac adapter so it works with it. (This was going to involve me running new wires anyways).

Do you know if it's just a direct swap between the side and the side with the controls?

Thanks
