Default Winter Drive

Very cold and wintry day in my 'hood.

So, thought it was grand opportunity to prove/disprove theories re: a C6's driveability in cold weather.

Left home circa 1330...18 F. Drove a 60 mile circuit that included a stop for a $2. Big Mac and a stop for three beers at a local watering hole.

Roads were relatively clear with some snowy patches and sunny skies.

After all was said and done the trip was w/o incident.

NO problems with cold tires, heater, heated seats, blades, or any other vehicle functions.

Arrived home a few minutes ago...temperature now 5F.

Peace, out.

If the roads are clear, you won't have any issues; it drives just like any other car.

If snow or ice is on the ground, then it can be dangerous...like ANY OTHER CAR.

Default Anti Freeze

Wiil 3 beers keep your blood from freezing at 5 degrees.
It's going to be 12 here tonight and I was just wondering how many I need to stay defrosted.

Wow that is cold. Now that is winter. We seemed to have skipped over it here in So. Cal. It was 80 degrees today. What happened to winter?

I drove mine about 30 miles in -5 weather last year on a clear day after the salt had all dried up for frozen. It was just fine and the vert has a HELL of a heater along with the heated seats! Defroster works great also.

Most of the people that say they lose it usually have "floored or punched it" in the same sentence. I haven't had a problem but I also know to stay within the car's and my own limits.

It's right here in the East. Just hop on a non-stop flight from LAX to CLE and you'll be able to experience winter in all it's glory. It's -10 degrees right now with 12 inches of snow on the ground. The high temp is forecast to go all the way up to a balmy 7 degrees today.

-13 now in central Michigan, 6 inches of snow, more on the way. My boss sure is good at giving me days off to enjoy!

Oh, c'mon, I keep reading about snow tires on Vettes, how well it handles in the snow, what's a little snow, etc. It can't be that bad, can it?

I saw a funny thing happen last night.
It was about -5, and when I started driving the DIC said "Active Handling warming up"
and then a few minutes later it changed to "Active Handling Ready", then the display went back to the mileage display I had on.
I guess Active Handling doesn't work in extreme cold weather.

I prefer tequila! Sh*t ... is this going to get locked now.

(I was thinking to myself, I'd be more worried about the 3 beers than the 18 degree temps! )

Glad you had a fun drive. Stay safe!

Interesting! The "worst" message that I've seen was "Ice Possible"
