Default Need your help

One of the rear O2 sensors on my 05 has failed. The tech at the dealership got the part but recommended I take the car to another shop since I have a Corsa Sport exhaust and the warranty will not cover the cost (it will be cheaper elsewhere). So I took it to a friend's shop and he said the sensor is bad but so is the extension wire. The dealer says there is no extension wire on a stock exhaust system and that the extension must have come with the Corsa system when I purchased it. I have no idea. Also, to keep this from happening again both the dealer and my friend say the O2 sensor and wiring should be wrapped in a heat resistent material - kind of like Dyno Mat. Can anyone comment on the extension wire being from Corsa, and the kind of material I sould look for to wrap the sensor? Thanks in advance. Jim

okay,,, what this sounds like is like you have a Corsa exhaust AND headers. Theres is NO reason why any dealer would void your warranty for having a Corsa catback exhaust or any other aftermarket exhaust for that matter. Now, when you mention "02 Sensor Extension wires" that means that your car must have longtube headers installed and that would effectively affect your warranty if there was even any warranty left on that 2005. What you need is aftermerket 02 sensor extension wires. the dealer is not going to have them because they are not original equipment, somebody installed those when they added longtubes to your car.

There are no 02 sensors anywhere near your corsa mufflers. There should be 2 before the cats and 2 after the cats, however, with a modified exhaust system you may only have 2. Theres no telling whats really going on here with no pics.
