Hi all. I am having a heck of a problem. Thought it was DBS, replaced the battery, it wasn't good. So now new battery, can't start the darn thing. I got it started, and was driving it. I pulled into my driveway to grab something from the house, left the car running (my hubby was in it)...and a ton of error messages started pouring out...low fuel, shocks inoperative, etc. I made the mistake of turning it off, and was going to restart it to see if it would clear up, and the damn thing wouldn't start again. Something very strange going on...any ideas...have you had this type of problems? The battery connection is tight, but it almost seems like something is losing communication or connection???
Sounds like this is more of a computer problem, you should take it to the dealer. Btw- you will need to re-index the windows, if you didn't do that yet.

sounds like the charging system is not working. check your volt gauge on the dash when it happens. if below 11 volts, it won't start or run the car. needs to be checked out by a competent corvette technician.

I think the charging system isn't keeping up with the needs of the car. It would explain your dead battery and low voltage would also explain the crazy messages. Charge the battery, then start the car, then check the voltage as it runs...if its below about 13.8 volts while running, then your charging system isn't doing its part

If you got a string of messages with the engine running that sure sounds like an alternator problem. Easy to check. Even AutoZone could do it IF you can keep the car running long enough to get there. Problem is it sounds like it is so bad the car will not charge enough just to keep running so you could easily end up on the side of the road. If it were me I'd call a tow truck.
P.S. I forgot the obvious. You did check under the hood and you didn't throw the belt, right?

Also start the car and check the voltage . It should be 13.5 or greater. Sure sounds like a faulty alternator.
It does keep running after it is started....when it starts...LOL! The new battery hasn't been run down as we disconnect it if needed, like last night the interior lights wouldn't shut down.
Next time I get it started, or get in it, I'll watch the voltage...that might explain it.
We also noticed that the battery cable connection had become ever so loose, probably because of the damn cold weather....who knows.
Thanks all for your ideas and support! It did start fine today, but don't dare go somewhere and turn it off until we get this solved.

You didn't say what the voltage gauge is showing with the engine running.
We revisited the battery cables. It seems that perhaps with the cold weather, they had loosened slightly, again. So the are very tight now, and no problems....so far.
The voltage is good...
Thanks for all the help, and hopefully this is the end of this...LOL!
