I am currently in the process of adding an aftermarket navigation to my C6. While I am at it, I am looking at installing insulation and possibly a few other items. I have taken out the entire center console to include the a/c control unit, the nav, and the ashtray/lighter area. I am worried about leaving the car in this state for too long without the battery connected.
If you have any experience with this, please let me know if it will damage my car or throw any codes that woudl be a red flag if I were to start the car without the a/c controller, etc, hooked back up. I am likely 4-6 weeks away from being done with the project as I am only able to attack a couple days a week after work.
As no one else is chiming in, I'll give you my .02: Yes, I'd expect it to kick out codes, etc..... but so what? When you finally put it all back together, as the computers are constantly scanning (on the 2 internal LANs, low speed and high speed), they will realize that it's all hooked back up again (hopefully correctly!), then will shut off the Check Engine Light. Then, after enough starts, eventually most of them will no longer even be in memory. In short, I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck!

I have the Z-51 option and had nav stock in the car from the factory. I just decided to replace it with the kenwood. I'm assuming the stock battery is good enough. Will I need to upgrade if I add an amp and a 10" subwoofer? If so, what battery do you recommend?

I have an 06 car that still has the original battery. The car has two amps totaling 750 watts and is powering Kenwood 8019 H.U., 4 JL speakers and a 10" JL Stealthbox. No problem with the battery at all.
The battery doesn't power accessories like this, the alternator does. Unless you like to use the music system without the engine running, the battery won't make any difference, (as long as it is healthy)
