Default FOB Issues?

I was helping my wife set up her seat positioning in the vette today and noticed something strange. The car does not seem to recognize FOB #2 like it does with FOB #1 (mine).
The seats automatically adjust for me when I close the door and when I open the door to get out, the "easy exit" seat position adjusts to where I programed it.
I know FOB #2 works because the doors unlock when the car is approached and all of the buttons on the FOB do their job too.

I thought there may have been interference due to FOB #1 being in close proximity but I moved it about 20' from the car and still got the same results. The "easy exit" doesn't work for it either.

The only way her seats adjust to where she has them programed for driving and "easy exit" is to hit the according buttons on the door.

I do believe the car should recognize FOB#2 just like it does for FOB #1, right?

Has anyone had this same experience? I'm pretty confused.

Are you sure about the first part? I've had 2 C6 automatics and the seat does not adjust to the driving position (automatically) until you start the engine. Read page 2-67 in the 2005 owner's manual.

If your vehicle has the Auto Memory Recall feature and
it is turned on in the Driver Information Center (DIC),
the seat, mirrors and telescopic steering column position
will automatically adjust to their programmed positions
when the engine is started. See “Auto Memory
Recall” under DIC Vehicle Personalization on page 3-67
for more information.
The seat will move automatically to the exit position when you open the door.

Let her try starting the car with her fob and see if it moves the seat to her driving position automatically.

I meant after the car is started. It adjusts for me (FOB 1) after the car is started and when exiting ( car off, door opened) but it does not do either for her (FOB 2).

I realize you said that her fob #2 buttons work, but do any of the other memory options work for her? Try the radio presets with her fob. See if she can set some and have it remember them.

It's possible that fob #2 was not programmed to the car as fob #2. Realize that only fobs programmed to the car as fob #1 & fob #2 have memory options.

Memory options are not required for her fob to unlock the door when standing near the car and using the door handle.

I'll give that a try tomorrow. If all else fails, I'll try to reprogram the FOB by doing the "circus routine" in the owner's manual.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

It might be worth the effort to see if you can reprogram her fob (if it won't save radio presets), but I doubt it. If it has indeed been programmed as another fob no., I think only the dealer can reprogram it. Otherwise, you'd have to reprogram both of them, I think.

But try both things, the presets & the reprogram.

Jim is right, your fob 2 could be seen by the car as 3 or 4 and so would do everything except the memory stuff.
