Default Widebody question

Has anyone used the ACI Z06 rear quarters for your widebody conversion? If so, how were they?

No $$$ problems. Note where I live. We get a lot of seat time down here. Good weather. If they made a Z06 convertible, it would be in my garage. Since they don't, I'll go for the look, but have my vert.

shoot, if i just had the extra cash sittin around id pick up one of those Z06's in a heartbeat. I dont care if its not a vert... i just want the POWAHHH !!

You sound like a guy with a lot of spare change who just loves convertibles..... so if money is not an issue why wouldnt you wanna do a full Z06 conversion with all genuine GM parts instead of heavier, lesser quality, questionable fit, aftermarket parts? Are the aftermarket quarters you want styled differently?

Yea, the only reason I didn't get a Z06 is they don't have automatics and I knew I could easily modify the C6 to surpass a Z06.....

I live within a hour of the ACI shop and have been there a few times. Very professional establishment. While I am using the GM parts for my rear widebody conversion, I would not be afraid to use any of the parts from ACI. They have a pretty neat front conversion kit also that works with the stock C6 front fascia.

To answer your question, GM does not make a Z06 rear quarter to fit a vert. Now you know why I'm asking about ACI. I know Caravaggio makes them as well, just wanted some input on ACI quality.

I'd say because he likes roadsters better than coupes with non removable tops!

Agreed. I too have a Vert and live in inclement weather so the Z06 was out of the question because I and he wanted a rag top... From what I have read here in the past, no panels fit that well on the vert and all will have to be slightly modified, so I guess he is better off getting the genuine GM parts.

Go with GM. I have a Vert with full body conversion.I used Genuine GM from Zip Products. They take genuine Gm fenders and cut notch out top to make it fit vert body lines. Looks awsome when done. But IMHO you need bigger wheels and tires also because car looks funny with tires sunken in wioth wide fenders. And I dont like looks of wheel spacers. Your brakes are going to look small too so a Big brake upgrade should be next. OH.... might as wel update the suspention with sway bars and coil overs since cars apart. Now all you need is a supercharger to make every Z06 owner drooll when you are driving past them with TOP DOWN!!!!!

I have the ACI hood. This is so I'll be ready to install a Maggie later on. My point is when I took the hood down to a very elite paint shop here in Orange County (they only work on Austin Martin's, Ferrari's, Lambo's, Corvette's, etc.), the manager informed me that this is absolutely the best made hood he has ever seen for a Corvette! And, he said he has seen a lot of different manufacturer's out there....so, I feel pretty damn good about the quality of ACI's stuff. And, of course, I love the hood....

Don't know about the OP, But I couldn't find a Z06 Convertible. If I could have, I would have bought one.

Why do a wide body then, you may ask. Because I needed to put larger tires on the back to handle my additional power.

GM Z06 panels have to be modified to fit a Vert. Caravaggio makes high quality parts that fit from the getgo.

Thank you, but we use the Carravaggio panels. That just shows you how nice they are, they look factory. I do not suggest using a GM panel and cutting it. There is a reinforcement in there that needs to be there and you will eliminate it when trimming the panel. Not only that, sure the gm panel costs less, atleast until you mis trim it and have to buy a new one. You can't beat the quality of the Carravaggio and that is the reason we used their panels in our kits.
Thanks
