getting ready to pull the trigger on "o5" proably from a dealer
i have read alot about the brake line recalls. if the fix hasnt been
done will they still fix at no charge even though its being sold as a
used/certified car

Boy, you're good! You do know how to research before buying. Yes, there were about 1,000 2005 Corvettes built with a bad rear brake line mounting. There was a safety recall. If, for some reason the car you are interested in wasn't fixed in 2005 (doubtful) , it would be fixed free now.
thanks for the re folks.
not going to be a daily driver. any advace you can offer that i should be on the look out for other then the normal stuff so far as the c6's
are concerned

I bought an '05 it's been flawless, if it's a 6 speed just remember to park it in reverse.
I think it depends on whether or not it was a late or early model as to whether those issues were corrected before being sold, mine was. I would think that by now they would be. I bought my 05 in Apr 05 and all the issues had been taken care of. Even the roof.

Wasn't there something about a firmware upgrade for the nav system, or something, for the '05?
I recently bought my 05 6sp .It's been a great car!
If the one you are looking at is a 6sp, early 05s had a problem with the clutch not disengaging when shifting at high RPM. Had my clutch plate replaced at the dealer under a " goodwill warranty" and it works fine now.
If you do not plan on driving the car like it ought to be driven , you won't notice the problem.

Pull the trigger. Fire away! Sounds like you have already done some good research and this forum is a GREAT resource. You can quickly scan this thread, if you haven't already: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...questions.html
I love my 2005! As you probably already know, the build date/serial number makes a difference with several items. Mine is 132XXX, so I missed out on a lot of the earlier issues.

My O5 Vette Vin number is 10XXX so it has been called in a few times for recalls years ago. Heres what has been done to my Corvette, DBS flash to stop the battery from draining, NAV flash so the CD player will play MP3 incoded disc's, check of the fuel filler hose to see its not rubbing on any parts. Thats it. 32,000 miles with no problems. 28 miles per gallon using California gas, 29 miles per gallon outside CA. Good luck with your O5 Corvette.
