I think the attractive model would be a plus at a trade show to draw foot traffic but for an AV spot I'd use a male spokesperson to convey more of a 'mechanically knowledgeable' image.

Although the use of such models does draw a lot of foot traffic at trade shows, using them to present a product can cause a company to lose credibility IMO. An intelligent, well-spoken, professionally dressed, male or female spokesperson would be better.
If you want to use models, just put them to work handing out the give-aways or working the coffee bar.
