We're taking the vette on it's first road trip to Las Vegas this Spring Break. It's about an 1100 mile trip from our house. I keep counting the days. I want to see the Hoover Dam and the new glass walkway on the Grand Canyon. Should be some good, long, straight stretches of road to open it up a little bit on the way. And of course I'll have to make my way over to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
It is a nice drive. My wife and I took ours out there about 3 months after getting it. We opted for the longer drive around the North side on the way out and then the Southern drive around the Grand Canyon on the way back.
I think you are pretty brave taking it to the glass walk way. The last I heard, it is a long dirt road out to the West side of the Grand Canyon.
One other note... We went for Springbreak a few years ago and got stuck in a big snow storm in Williams Arizona. Just a heads up, if your driving and you see a few snow flakes in the air, don't stop, just get out of there.
I don't want to scare you but I just found this pic. This is what it looked like when we got up in the morning on March 10th, keep in mind there was no snow on the ground a few hours earlier when I looked ot the hotel window.
Wow...a snow storm in Arizona. I wouldn't expect that. Well thanks for the heads up on the glass walkway. I'm not too crazy about driving down dirt roads with my vette. I'll have to check in to that some more.
