Does anyone have an accurate parts list for the C6 convertible widebody conversion. I'm not sure what can be reused, and what needs to be purchased. I'd like to have everything I'll need here before I start. So far, I have the Z06 front bumper (nothing at all on it ie: grill etc.)
I have the Z06 front fenders ordered (panels only)
I have the Z06 rear convertible quarters ordered (panels only)
Thanks for any help.

return all your stuff and buy it all from Gene Culley. He has the best prices on OEM parts. I have an account setup at my local GM dealer and Gene's shipped price is still cheaper than I can get it locally.

This is the part list from zip corvette.

These have fiberglass fenders instead of Carbon Fiber.
You can get CF ones from them also
Kit Components Display
05-09 CONVERTIBLE Z06 BODY UPDATE KIT
Update your C6 Corvette Convertible to the "look" of a Z06 without buying a brand new Corvette. Zip has assembled all the necessary parts to convert your C6 into a Z06 body. Includes new front fiberglass fenders, fiberglass rear convertible fenders, front bumper, and all inner panels, nuts, reinforcements, bolts and clips to complete installation. Panels must be prepped and painted prior to installation.
Not sure you want to do the work yourself. Count on Zip for your installation. Zip has been recognized in several Corvette magazines as a supplier for the most complete Z06 body update kit available.

Gene's price is the best and I looked everywhere. No local dealer was even close. And he supplies great expertise and support.

I can't speak personally about the quality of the aftermarket rear fender panels, but there have been enough posts about poor fitting panels that I went with the OEM's. The modification is fairly simple for a competent shop and added only a small amount of $$ to the price of the paint job.

Also, my insurance company had no "issue" with OEM parts, modified or not, instead of aftermarket.

Aftermarket wheels they could understand. Go figure.

Please, no more plugs for Gene Culley. I know he is a great vendor on this site, and I intend to buy everything I now need from him. Just trying to determine what my needs are, based on the experience of members who have gone through the process. As my post says, looking for a list. That's all.

LOL... thanks guys for the plugs.

I believe we've spoken through email and I let you know that I have a full conversion list, with all of the needed pieces. I have sold a couple of hundred complete widebody setups, and I have adjusted the list until it was complete and there were no more complaints.

Really all you need to do is provide your credit card number and I'll take care of all of your worries.

Or check with WCC, they have the kit and the fenders are already modified for the "vert".....that way, all you have to do is paint and install....pricing wasn't bad either for the kit (mine will be here thursday for my vert) ...good luck! show pics when you're done.

Charley: As I recall, you swapped out your front inner wheelhouses with Z06 wheelhouses. Are there any "gotchas" with mounting standard C6 parts to these wheelhouses? For example, battery tray mounts or other parts.

I actually didn't change the inner wheel wells. I was concerned that I would not be able to get the headlights to line up correctly again. I trimmed the existing inner fenders and then fabricated extensions to meet up with the new outer fenders.

Gene you know who you will be getting a call about the front one in no due time!!!

My only question is do I REALLY need the front inner well liners or not? I want to do this 100% factory looking inside out! I know Gene personally and am proud to call him an actual friend of mine besides doing business with him for numerous years. I know his kit is complete regardless of what I hear that there are 30 more parts needed to make the kit complete etc. I just need to know if I need the front inner wheel well liners or not?

It's your call. I am very extreme in wanting my projects done correctly. But, When I modified my car I decided not to change the inner liner at the advice of a friend that works in one of the best bodyshops in SoCal. By changing the inner liner you are potentially opening a can of worms. It is a bonded on part (black part in the picture below) that locates the headlight and also the interface between the outer fender and the bumper. There is no way to ensure that you have the new part in the correct place....It was too large of a risk for me. I fabricated an extension to fill the gap.

Charley

Charley thanks for the input. GM certified bodyshop will be doing this project. They just did a totalled Z06 in the front replacing everything including the inner liners and the quality was unbelievable.

I am 100% sure that GM bodyshop can't do custom stuff like Mike in the above post posted. Any close up pictures of extensions you speak of?
