Default GMS Pricing

What does the MSRP have to be for the GMS to be basically $49,000?

Oops, an '08 GMS of $48,000. I'm looking at cost plus tax to be as close to $51,325 but at least that much. Might be including tag title and whatever too. Just cant be any negative from a trade in.

I think GMS is 13.5% off the Corvette 1LT MSRP. After that it is a straight 20% off of options (all LT packages are considered options, for example 4LT is a $8000 option).

So start with 13.5% off the 1LT price and then figure out how much room you have for options, then pick the ones you want.

Close, but I don't think it is exact.

Go to

https://www.gmfamilyfirst.com

Click on the Vehicle Shopping drop down list and choose Build Your Own. As you go through the pages of choosing the options you want, both the MSRP and GMS prices will be displayed to you.

Unless they changed it recently options are a flat 20% off. MSRP is usually 4% under invoice. Now the invoice to MSRP gap varies, hence the appearance of no equation to decide GMS.

For reference, GMS price is invoice as calculated per KBB.com, edmunds.com, etc. - excluding the goofey slush fund ad fees and then subtracting 3% of the MSRP before the destination charge (holdback), then adding $150 to that #. Confused yet?

For example, on my Z it was like $2,140 below invoice.

MSRP = $77,165 (w/ $850 dest.)
Invoice = $68,824.33 (excluding ad fee)
GMS = $66,684.88 out the door.

$68,824-3%x($77,165-850)+$150 = $66,685

Note: Cannot use GM Card earnings with GMS (even with an old blue GM Card)

I purchased '08 in Oct and paid 17% off MSRP for my GMS price. If I remember correctly MSRP was 58k ish and I paid 48k ish.
