smash: Can anyone recommend a procedure for cleaning and restoring my dashboard. 2007 C6 since new all I ever did was wipe with damp cloth, now it looks dull and streaky, as do the door panels.
What can I use to clean and restore it ?
I'm afraid to use leather cleaner, but am not sure what material the dash is made out of. Vinyl maybe.
Help and advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
This may sound dumb, and maybe its not good for my car... but I have always used a wet washcloth (old one that doesnt leave lint), wring it out and spray generously with Pledge furniture polish.

I had a problem with my dash and door panels getting a white haze on them.
I applied leather cleaner and it did wonders. Looks really good, with no shine.
I got this same question answered on the forum a few months back. 303 works great. I had been using it for years on fiberglass boats and jet skis. I just hadn't thought about it for the Vette dash.

Damp dark colored cloth, air dry...it's in the owners manual. If white haze on it, time to do it again. White haze is also caused by hard tap water drying. That's what I have and I use "DISTILLED" water and my dash and doors look new just like when I bought the car on 10/12/04!!!
I recently discovered Lexol leather care, it really makes the seats look and feel great. They have a vinyl and rubber care product, Vinylex, has anyone tried it? It sounds good in the ads. http://www.vinylexprotectant.com/

old school, all the show circuit guys used it, IN and OUT. made by johnson wax, they even have paste stuff. looks incredible on black. then it went south when they added all those scented oils, hard to rub the streaks out. oh yeah, the longevity is about 4 HRS
