Vararam Install Help? - Problem Solved (pics below)

Has anyone successfully installed their Vararam (Snake Charmer model for an 07) direct to the Air Sensor without using a hose transition between the CAI and the Air Sensor?

Chuck orginally installed mine in this manner because it looks much cleaner... of course, I took it apart to paint the Vararam and now cannot fit the Air Sensor into the Vararam Intake for the life of me... so close but it just won't fit - too tight. Anyone successfully done this that can offer a tip to make it work?

..very frustrated...

Never mind... got it done!!

I used the FRC install trick of heating up the Vararam so that the intake neck was a bit more pliable and SQUEEZED the air sensor on - man, it's a tight fit but it looks so much better without the hose.

...feel much better now!

Here you can see that the Vararam CAI does fit directly into the Air Sensor housing without the need for the rubber hose transition - but it is a TIGHT fit! I had to heat the Vararam for about 25 minutes so that it would be pliable enough to squeeze the air sensor housing in... I think it is a much cleaner install:
