This week it's been snowing properly in southern England for the first time in nearly 20 years, so it's the only thing anyone's talking about. OK, it's not proper snow by US standards, but we're not exactly prepared (like we don't have ploughs and we're running out of road-salt already). As we're totally unprepared a lot of the country has been shut down for most of the week (London was like a ghost town on Monday).
Top Gear have published a helpful set of snow tips - check out the first and third...fame for the Vette! There's also a video showing how "good" a GT-R is in snow - since it's on snow tyres pretty much anything would be OK in the snow!
Top Gear always gets their shots in on the Vette whenever they can, actually many people do drive their Vettes in the snow with proper tires and have done fine.
I drove my C6Z home in Northern NJ last Nov. in a surprise early snow which left the roads unplowed and unsalted. Four inches up and down hills around a lake and the back end only broke free once - which I recovered from and maintained traction. I did this with judicious use of the clutch as opposed to the throttle! But it impressed me nonetheless. And this with stock runflats.

Snow Tires make a huge difference in the snow. If you could find HUGE snow tires, I am sure the vette would do Ok.
I had a T-bird SC and it was CRAZY in the now without the snow tires. You couldnt get it down the street. With snow tires it was no problem -- though it looked awful.
I've driven in a hail and snow storm on stock runcraps. Most important element is common sense. Tires for the occasion are a good idea too. Oh and Top Gear is a great show. They actually bash pretty much any car they can find a fault with. Jeremy loves the Zonda and anything Ferrari can make, though he was not keen on the looks of the F50.
