I got the call also but was not home. I did go to the website to complain about my popping roof. I told them how the dealership had no clue about new latches. 3 weeks later UPS brought me latches
Imagine how good a company GM could be if they could get the dealerships to learn some basic customer service.
I got one too. Like kissing your sister. I also left feedback on the website and heard absolutely nothing.
Take it for what its worth.
I had alittle different take, a girl called from the assembly plant and could not answer a question on the A6 transmission and she took message for engineer but he never called back. Later on, on a thread I made a comment that it was just PR stunt. A month or so later I got an Email from an engineer to send him an Email with telephone number and he called me back, I eventually spent three (3) days at the factory with him on my squeaky top which they couldn't resolve. I have talked to two of them, engineers, several times on the phone.
I got mine today, he asked if I had any questions or issues. He also pointed me to the website if anything comes up. Nice touch to go with an awsome car.
I got the call within two weeks of buying my 2006. Another point. I took Museum delivery and at the end of the plant tour, where it comes time to start the next Vette in line for the first time before taking it to the dyno, the GM guy came up to me and asked if I wanted to start the car for the first time. I did so, and they then gave me a "Birth Certificate" (that's what it is actually called) which now hangs in my office. The whole process was really cool.
