Default Tire Question HELP!

So I had my tire guy order me some new tires. He wasn't able to get the tire i wanted in stock sizes so he ordered them in a different size that would apparently also fit. I am paranoid this is gonna make my car look stupid because I like the stance it has now. I think these tires are about an inch smaller all around (diameter). Does anyone have any experience with these sizes to know how it will look or have any pics?

Front: 235/40/18

Rear 275/30/19

Stock:

Front: 245/40/18

Rear: 285/35/19

Thanks,

The 275/30 rear is too short. The OEM rear tires are 26.9" dia and the 275/30-19 tires are only 25.5", over 1.4" shorter! It will more than likely cause traction control issues and set a message on the DIC.

I would not install these tires. The C6 needs every ounce of traction you can get and I especially would not go smaller or compromise your traction control system.

Should I be able to return the tires seeing as they have never been mounted?

Any other tire size recommended or is stock the best size for stock rims? I would like as much grip as possible.

Thanks,

You can vary from stock size, but you must stay within the parameters for the traction control system. I have personally tried 275/35-18 on the front and 305/30-19 on the rear without problems. These tires exeed the stock rim widths by 1/2" but they do fit and work well.

My opinion: If you are normally reserved, then stay with the stock sizes but move away from the Goodyear EMT (extended mobility runflat) design. Most report the Firestones, the Michelin PS2, the Nitto, or even the Toyo are much better tires.

I personally like the Michelin PS2. It has better traction, much improved ride, it is quiet, and it handles better. The flip side is it is not a runflat design so I carry a 12V Craftsman air compressor and tire plug kit in one of the rear compartments.
