Default Wheel Balancing

Is there any set rule for how often we should get our wheels balanced? I bought a warranty from Discount Tire at time of delivery which includes free balancing every 5000 miles.

I've not seen one but if you get it free, I'd take advantage of it. I try to get my alignment checked once a year and have wheels and tires balanced at that time. Don't really need it but trying to nurse as much mileage out of the GYRF's as I can. jmho

The idea there is to rotate the tires and balance. In the case of our staggered wheel set up the point is moot. I would not worry about it unless you notice uneven tire wear or vibration. Personally I try and keep outside hands off my Vette as much as possible. On the other hand 5000 mile balancing might could/would ensure better tire wear. Your decision.

Find a smooth high speed road in your area. Run it up to 80 mph. It should be dead smooth with no vibrations. No vibrations, no need to balance.
