...There's quite a bit of overlap one disk to the other. That's very important for those of us who live near the Mississippi River -- the presumptive dividing line. I can usually get along with the "west" DVD here in the St. Louis metro area. It's not like I have to use the "east" disk for origins/destinations on the Illinois side of the river, and the "west" disk for o/ds on the Missouri side. That would have been a real PITB.

I have a 2005, received no free updates, however did purchase an update for 199 back in 2007. I noticed no difference. Can anyone honestly say that they have received a newer version that was actually better?? Just wondering--eddie
Yes, there are two discs. Both discs contain all the roads for the entire country and Canada. The only difference between the east/west discs is the POI database. As mentioned above, there is significant overlap between the two discs. For example, all of Kentucky is on both discs. If I travel east, I would use one disc; if I go west, I use the other. In either case, all the POI data for Kentucky is available.

Yes. Version 5 is the first one that has our street on it. (We live in a fairly new development; our street was not on Version 4.)
