Default First problem

I know that there have been threads on this , but i can't seem to find them . The interior lights staying on (rear view mirror).
I tried everything i could think of to get them to shut off , no luck.
finally after about 30 minutes they shut off on there own...Weird !
Anyone ever find out which component/diode is the problem ? The vette is about due for it's first oil change and i would like to get it fixed. Thanks in advance .

That's a new one . Don't run the battery down. Check on how to get in if this happens!!

I had this problem a few weeks ago. The fellas here fixed me up. They told me to move the little button to the left of the steering wheel. Worked for me. I hope this helps.

The first time I did a real serious interior clean, I tripped the light switch with the chamois... made the interior lights stay one (without knowing it). I closed the doors, and they still wouldnt shut off. Then realized after reading the manual what I had done. They do shut off after 30 mins due to battery run down protection. Check that switch... left of the steering wheel... it is probably on!

Map light switch position is pushed in for OFF. Try the dimmer switch at the driver's left knee again. 95% of corvette drivers have a problem with that. Press it in and release it ONCE.

most likely the dimmer switch as noted by others. fairly common to inadvertantly turn it on while cleaning the interior. also check your DIC settings to see how long you have the lights staying on and change it to the lowest time setting. good luck!

Get in the car and make sure that both of your doors are fully closed. An open or ajar door will keep the lights on. Second, once inside the car look for this button and press it.

If you rotate this switch it will adjust the instrument panel dim level. If you press it it will turn on and off the rear view mirror lights.

There are also two switches on the rear view mirror. If in your quest to turn the lights off you tried those switches you may have in fact turned on the map lights. Once you press the dimmer switch it will not be immediate if the door has been open. It takes about 30 seconds for the lights to dim to off once the doors have been open. Also, trying to press it with the door open it will not show any success as the open door will keep them on. That is why I recommend getting in the car with all doors and hatches closed and waiting for 30 seconds and then try pressing the buttons.

Thanks everyone ! I finally got them to shut off after pressing
that button about , "who knows how many times" , and trying
different combinations.
I don't think that the button is making good contact or it
is intermitient contact.
When i go in for the first oil change i will have them order me a new switch/button.
Meanwhile i will keep and eye on it / test it. Thanks again !!
