Default ipod lockpick

Has anyone installed the ipod lockpick into their vette with the navigation system. I have an 08 with the navigation/radio. Does the ipod work well. Can you still play the ipod on shuffle? Any problems with installing. I know that the XM box is behind/above the left rear wheel well.

Well now there are two lockpicks, but I guess you are talking about the older version. Really, the only thing you can do with it connected is change playlists and you can cycle through the playlist songs. Song info is displayed on the top most line of the NAV and seems limited to the first 18-20 characters. The sound is excellent. The downside with lockpick is that every once in awhile it goes nuts and forgets what it is suppose to do next, but you normally can get it out of its funk.

Installed it on my 2009 convertible and a buddy also installed on his 2009 and 2005 convertible. They work great. Have not tried the shuffle.

There was a guy that was going to review the new lockpick. He was the one that brought it to many members attention. But believe it or not the thread was locked by one of CF's geniuses. The thread was very informative and much knowledge was passed on. He may of just decided it was not worth it as he was shocked the thread was locked.

This was the lockpic for the Nav system.

I just got my lockpick 360 yesterday. I installed it last night, however, I'm not finished yet. I have to pick up a composite A/V cable for my ipod/iphone for it to work properly. However, I can tell you that I did install a rear view camera and it seems to work great. I've heard the sound is much better for the iPod but I won't know for sure till I connect it all together later today.

The install is pretty involved, but the instructions are very good. If i had to go back and do this a second time, I would probably think it was not that hard, but this was my first time working with the internals of the NAV.

Anyway, I'll post back after everything is up and running, but so far it seems to be working.

I ended up going with the camera that coastaletech offers. After searching around, it seemed to be what everyone else was using, and i figured it would be a safe bet to use the one that they use. The camera quality is great and it's very easy to hook up; it's also nice and small.

I believe it was Talon that posted something about a month ago saying per an inside contact (but very hush, hush) the GM PAL device was for sure coming out within the next couple months. I went with US Spec about a year ago because I got tired of waiting but it was not that expensive so if this really comes out and looks/works good, I may change.
