Has anyone had this problem? My car has been sitting this winter (started it numerous times).Started it, and backed out of garage, then my son and I installed the mild2wild today. Followed the directions (simple install) then cranked car and let it run for 2 mins..Attempted to click remotes, and no change to opening and closing baffles, no response from remotes/red light on remotes were on.. Shut off car to check connections...Bang, the car would not start, the battery died or drained quickly..Uninstalled switch, charged battery for two hours and then started car!! Is this normal for this modification?I don't want to get stranded??Always heard this was a cool mod. However, it did not work for me...the polishing kit works wonders??
I installed mine in a couple minutes and have never had a problem, works great. Don't know what to tell you, good luck. Contact Ed's son and see whats up.
Probably DBS and not the M2W. Go to accessories mode and check your battery voltage on the DIC w/ the engine off and headlights off (if they come on). Below 11 volts is problematic.
suspect the two events are unrelated assuming M2W install done according to specs. check with Ed's son to confirm install done as required. you need to drive your car at 1500 + RPM for about 30 minutes to charge the system - 2 minutes doesn't do it. once you get your system charged up, retry the remotes.
I have not heard of this problem and suspect it is your car battery. Have you had it on a battery tender this Winter or are you just starting it up every so often. If it was not on a battery tender I would check the battery as your source of the problem. You can contact the vendor to see what he says relative to the M2W as well. Good luck.
Sorry to hear you had an issue and I would always suggest contacting us directly as I just happened to find this post. Unless you did some modification to the mild2wild or grossly mis-installed it (both not likely), Mild2Wild could not have caused your problem. I can say that with 100% confidence since:
1. Mild2Wild is fused, so if any short (and you would need a good one to drain the battery that quick) the fuse would have blown and protected the system.
2. With close to 7000 installed, many up to 3 years ago, we have had a report of a condition like this.
The fact that Mild2Wild not work upon installation could point to improper grounding or installation. We have 5 page full color instructions on our site www.nakidparts.com including a trouble shooting section on page 5.
I would suggest you contact us if the unit still does not work after you review the installation instruction for a return and replacement, I would be happy to send you out a new unit and a prepaid return box

Likely not an exhaust controller issue per se if it died that quickly. Perhaps your battery was just "one start" away from dying after the long storage, and the installation of the exhaust controller with with the doors open and the lights running was enough to sink it.
Now that the battery is charged up, I would be surprised if you installed the controller and had the same problem. Keep your charger handy and give it a try.
If you do reinstall the exhaust controller, use the "Zero Drain" install method to eliminate battery drain worries. Given all the issues with Corvette batteries, it is not worth the potential hassle of letting an exhaust controller drain your battery with a retained memory install method.
