Acrylic blackouts vs blackout tints?
Just trying to decide whether to get the thicker plastic (acrylic) tail and side marker blackouts or the blackout film kit. I'm thinking the film might look better, as the acrylic ones I've seen look too thick, also the tints are cheaper and maybe easier to remove? I don't want them to be totally black, don't need any hassles from the Heat, but I want to remove the yellow and red lights for a more mean look.
Anyone who has any experience with either would be appreciated.

I have purchased the side and back in acrylic and did not like the fit at all, so i had them done at a local tint shop with film, they look much better and the side's dont stick out like the acrylics did and the tail lights are completly covered no gaps as the arcylic ones did. If you want ill take some pictures of them when i get home so you can see what they look like.

Pictures would be awesome... I am in the market myself.

I tried tint and it didn't work very well. Maybe if you went to a tint place and had it done it might work better. I went with RPI's covers on the back sides and front fog lights...

I have had the acrylic covers, the film and now on my wifes GXP Solstice painted lights. Here is a brief overview of what i have found.
The film: Orange peely, edges start to peel after time, small blemishes show up, hard to put on if no experience.
The Acrylic Covers: Intially they look to thick and don't fit PERFECT...but, after them being on for a bit, you don't notice how thick they are and they actually look really good. Downside, they are somewhat pricey and the rears can collect some moisture after washing.
Painted: Flawless looking, sanded and buffed to perfection. Downside; Somewhat expensive, down time while waiting for them to get done and there is no turning back if you want to go back to red.
I removed two sets of the film on two different Corvettes installed by 2 different installers because they looked the sh*ts.
Here are a couple of pics. The first is my Z06 with acrylic covers from RPI and the second are the painted ones on my wifes Solstice.
Front marker light is almost undetactable it blends in so well.

Easy answer. You posted something like a million posts yesterday morning in like 15 minutes, most of your posts consisted of this: Clearly just posting to pad your post count. You even pissed of one of the mods. My point is, if you took time to read what is posted, you wouldn't ask DUMB questions. The Solstice picture was relevant to the OP's question.

I have acrylic blackouts on my car and all I can say is while they look awesome, THEY ARE DUST MAGNETS
I can't keep 'em dust free longer than 5 minutes (even less if i drive the car). I'm thinking about taking 'em off....
(yea, I've tried various static cling remedies but nothing has worked so far)

Thanks guys!
And the Solstice/Sky is a GREAT little car and the picture was relevant to my post. Also both GM cars, we should support them!

The film does not cover the side markers very well. It doesn't wrap around the edge of the markers leaving that part exposed.
The film I used on my fog and tail lights is still holding up well after 3 yrs.

here are some upclose pics i happen to have here. I had a tint shop take off the side markers wrap them then re-install them, this way the whole marker is covered, only cost 15 bucks a lens, so 60 for all 4 still cheaper then the acrylic and to me looks better.
