Just started today, the drivers side door wont open from the outside with either fob right next to handle. I was able to open it manually with the lever in the car, but when I close the door the window stays down like the door is still open. It opens every couple of trys from the inside, but mostly does not function. First it acts like its locked, then when manually opened it acts like the door is still open after being closed? Think maybe the batteries in both remotes are low?? Maybe the system that locates the fobs on the outside of the car is going bad? But why would it not close the window when the door is closed? Mine is an 07, never had DBS issues and the car is driven fairly regularly. Also washed once a week. Maybe the water going into the door from the outside all those times messed up the door sensors>!>!>??

Have you disconnected/ reconnected your battery recently? If so did you "index" the windows? Sounds like a trip to a dealer may be in order?
i would first ask does the fob work other things like the passenger door and hatch? if so its not a fob issue. would only be a guess but would think maybe the drivers door lock mechanism is rusty or Inop. good luck paul

You may have a defective Exterior Door Handle Switch.
You can test it by replacing it with the switch from the passenger door - very easy to remove (2 phillips screws).
If it works properly, you simply replace the switch.

Thanks for the help guys. Took it to the dealer and it turns out it was the drivers side door switch. The service writer said there was a TSB on the issue. Also, they are swapping out my base radio for another one because mine started not accepting CDs here and there. Thanks again.
