What is the difference between a navigation system that uses DVD and one that doesn't? Maybe I should know this, but I don't. The C6 is a DVD system, the Challenger is not.
They are DVD or Hard Drive based. Like my Magellan, the hard drive units store all the map and other info on an internal hard drive and can be updated/upgraded with a download. Is that enough info or do we need more in depth from someone with more knowledge?
Go Garmin all the Way!! I have them and am buying more..one for every car. I don't recommend the in dash nav as they are way overpriced for what you are getting and technology/features change way to often to be pulling out dashes for newwer ones. I love the litte hand helds.

I had the indash Nav in my 05 and 07 vette, but did not get it in the 08. Went with a Garmin Nuvi and love. The earlier post about DVD versus hard drive seems about right to me.
