Are you serious? I didn't know GA was that low on water. Up here we had one of the ten worst winters on record for snow!

Next time lock the cover & by the way a weed wacker didn't do that . Some hard surface must have jumped up & bit the wheel

No weed whacker damage. Just good old fashioned curb rash.

I'm with you. The underlying metal doesn't look abraded at all. It looks almost like the paint was either "chipped off" or came off due to bad adhesion.

Maybe it's my eyes - - or my monitor-- but it sure looks to me like the tire is abraided in the same area . . .I say the wheel/tire rubbed against something like a cub - - not horribly . . just enough to mark the tire and the wheen - - I'm guessing you could sand that lightly with emory paper, mask the area off and put a couple of coats on it and never be able to tell - - -

No one seems to accept responsibility for their actions anymore....Someone else is always to blame, and there is an Army of lawyers out there to prove it, so there!

To each his own. You can set the damn thing on fire for all I care. The fact is, most people more respect and pride in their Vette than that. There should be a test before they sell these things to some people.

Ordinarily, I'd say it isn't curb rash due to the lack of striations and the uneveness of the paint chip. That said, Lawd have mercy on me, I smacked a curb with one of my powder coated wheels and the coating chipped off just like that. Curb rash, definitly not out of the question.

Nothing to add except sorry for your damage. Anyone know if these wheels can be repaired - maybe even DIY? Good luck

You folks are really funny.... I have 1st hand experience with curb rash... I did it on RF.... I am not happy or proud about that. But I DID IT and own that I did.
The car was parked in the drive since Sunday late afternoon, under a car cover as there was some threats of rain and I would rather not have the sun do it's damage...the cover which was secured with the product supplied cable...

I work on movie/tv studio lot and I have picked up nails & screws on my other cars, hence I rarely drive to work (did today though, Vette Friday!).

The only thing which occurred in my absence was that the gardener did his mow and blow (and Whacking). I keep the dog inside on that day as they have already improperly secured the gate and Ozzy (the dog) escaped and frolicked in the neighborhood. Oh and the trash pick up on Thursday, after my findings.

The tires where installed in the summer with Firestone WO run flats.
The car is a CA car since being born & delivered from KY in early 05, it's a lease return (he updated to a newer Vette).

So that's what I know, and that's the facts....

Course of action: Fire the Gardener and get another....

Thanks for keeping it real and free flowing! I still like and enjoy all of the comments and other experience from all of you!
