Default Key Blank

Does anyone know where you can get the key blank for
the rear hatch on 2008 to make a spare besides from chevy. Thanks

Most larger Tru Value and Ace hardware stores that have a service desk will have the B-106 blank. It also fits Saturn.

Default Don't remove the black plastic from the key

The key I bought from Ace Hardware was one of those with the black plastic on the user interface end (namely the part you hold onto). I took it off because I wanted the key as thin as possible and thought the plastic was covering a regular metal key. Big mistake. There was only a small piece of metal underneath the plastic and what was left wasn't enough to provide enough leverage to turn the key.

The B-106 that is marked "Saturn" does not have the plastic handle. I got mine from a local key & lock shop and it cost me $3.20 cut. It has the full size metal handle.

Yup...Ace is the place! Saturn key is way cheaper than getting a Vette key at the dealership.
