I don't remember any problems on the C6 here...but here is a thread from C5 that talks about a couple issues. I have no idea if the systems are similar or not.

For all that want to know - make sure all 3 of the wire connectors under the drivers seat are connected to each other - PROBLEM SOLVED.

Good news. Did you figure that out for yourself or did that C5 thread help?

I figured it out before I checked the forum and your response - thanks alot. The reason for the disconnected wires is that I and another forum member installed the insulation kit from Crazy Cowboy (Dan). So two vettes, alot of cussing/fussing alnog with 20 hours of DIY labor (love) and the job is done - yes there is a noticable sound difference.

I'm the "another forum member" by the way. All I can say oops. We did complete two cars in two days, my coupe (front, trunk, and door panels) and his vert. For his car we decided to leave the garage door open for some air and light but that also means a few of the neighborhood kids came over. One was extremely helpful chasing parts and tools. A couple like to ride their bikes near the cars and play around the parts. I also missed the hazard flasher on his install.

So we had to "troubleshoot" the following problems.

My car - Windows did not go up after we put them down. Turns out I read the manual and initialized the windows.

My car - You don't want to put too much insulation in the cubbies in the trunk as the cubbies' holders will not fit. I'll fix that some day.

Both cars - A couple broken clips - Fixable.

His car - Top would not raise - Again the windows were down and the car likes to have the windows up before it drops them to raise the top. (Windows have a lot of "power" on this car).

His car - Hazard flasher not working - Fixed - Kid was there at the time. We got very good at the center console. Probably takes us about 15 minutes to remove or install it now.

His car - Telescope feature on steering wheel did not work. Small connector after driver's seat not connected. On the pax seat for our 3LT/4LT you have 3 connectors, one on the seatbelt, two under the seat. You have to attach the seat belt bolts on both which means I forgot about the 3rd connector under the driver's seat (since it doesn't have the connector) on the seat belt. We were around the 18-20 hour mark at that time. We still loved our Corvettes after all of it too.

I took a video before and after so I'll see how it turned out and post them in another thread. I took about 100 mile trip today in the mountains and the insulation does help a lot. It is quieter and the car "feels" more solid. It only weighs 5 lbs or so. I took the car down a back road here in Utah (Echo Canyon near I80 for those familiar with this area. This is a bumpy paved road with I-80 and train tracks running next to it through a red/orange rock canyon. I take my 4 year old up their frequently (especially during the cool winter days) to watch the trains. It was a big difference going down that road today. As I said the car "feels" more solid, definitely quieter.

Well, when one or both of you come to Portland to work on my car I will have this list made into a poster and hang it in the garage.

Everyone should enjoy the pain of thinking they screwed up their $50-60k car at least once.

Maybe you never had the option of the telescoping steering wheel. Try that!
