Default Aston Martin

When a Mustang pulls up next to you at a light, you pretty well know it's not worth the hassle. You can blow their doors off if you want to. But what do you do when your pulling on to the freeway on ramp, with a couple of miles of 3 lane straight away ahead, and you glance in your rear view mirrow and there is something way out of place back there for Maumelle Arkansas?

I pretty much figured it was an Aston Martin something, but not being real familiar with Aston Martins I didn't really know what to expect. Not knowing, I was sort of relieved when there was so much traffic all we could do was blend into a space and sit in 65 mph traffic to our exit.

I just looked on the Aston Martin site and discovered it was likely a DB9 rated at 470 bhp. But it also weighs 3880 pounds and they list the 0 to 60 time at 4.6 sec.
No problem for an 07 C6, but not knowing for a few seconds as I started out on the freeway was a real quandry. Especially since my co- owner/wife passenger would likely have really been pissed if I had done something stupid.

the DB9 is one sweet ride, if not for the price I would own one. Team AM has beaten Team Corvette in the last two Le Mans

Larry, you can pretty well hang in there with anything and not be embarrassed... unless you get smoked by a souped-up Evo or something. You may lose but at least you won't be embarrassed.

And never ever exceed the speed limit. Just pop it from a stop light then back down once the limit is reached.

Thank you Raazor for the advice.
You might add an old fighter pilots trick as well, always know where every threat might be lurking. A quick glance in the mirrow for a blue light bar on a vehicle a few cars back in traffic can make your day go a lot better.
It's even better if the opposition in the other lane didn't check 6 before he dumped the clutch.

Weeellll.....
There's at least one DB9 and one Ferrari 430 in Germany that won't be trying any roll ons with a C6 on the autobahn any time soon.
Just sayin'

Those B@$%rds get around that by using "Excessive Acceleration" or "Exhibition of Speed". My brother is one, but I hate them.

That Aston is one sexy-looking car . . . . but the Maserati GT I pulled up next to last fall was even better looking that that. Made great noises, too. Unfortunately the driver was about 104 and had no interest other than blipping the throttle - which is OK. A beautiful car.

There are a lot of gorgeous exotics out there, and I can appreciate them all for what they are. More importantly, I never feel self-conscious about being in a "mere" Corvette. This car can hold its own with any of them.

As others have said only a handful of cars (and 2 of them happened to be other Corvettes) are fast enough to rip into a C6. On the street, only cars that run faster than an 11.5 will make you look bad.

Couldn't agree more. We're driving America's best.

AM are beautiful and wonderful cars. I love them, but, what if you have to get one fixed ? Oh, I forgot, British cars never break down....especially in Arkansas..

Yeah, even Top Gear teases the crap out of them due to their reliability. I think Jeremy said the car even looks great sitting on the side of one of their highways with a broken gearbox.

if by 'bad luck' you mean one vette have mechanical failures......other than that, 'bad luck' is just a phrase that losing teams (in any competition) use
