I am kinda hoping that thiss iss a photochopss joke on uss all.....I am glad that all of our carss don't look alike, but thiss lookss a bit off track for corvette ownerss to downgrade their carss to only an SS......different for ssure!
No, you're not on the wrong forum you just put the wrong letters on a vette.
See, here's the thing, "SS" may be a nice option on many lower cost cars but the vette comes stock, no option, better equipped than most "SS" models.
I've been watching performance cars of all kinds and driving many myself since the mid 60s. Lately, the past few years for sure, people have been doing stuff to new vettes that years ago were the sort of treatment Camaros and Mustangs received.
It's your car so you do what you want. I think putting "SS" on a vette degrades it substantially.
As you young guys say " Proly" I'm just so old now I don't know what looks good from what doesn't ( if I can even see that far ).
Chevy put SS on so many models... I would'nt dream of doing that.. no offense. Its a Corvette.. it's already above the "SS".
You forget the origional SS, was a one of Corvette Race project in 1957.
Chevy should have named the ZR1 the SS like was origionally planed.
It has extreme Corvete heritage.
On the other hand the Z terminology started with the Z28 Camaro. Now they use the Z logo on everything from brake packages to springs, and it came from the Camaro line.

Actually, the "Z" terminology started with the Corvette in 1962. The RPO Z06 was first introduced long before there ever was a Camaro.
But every one has a different view point on these designations. When I hear "SS", I think Camaro. Yet I'm sure now adays due to Chevy bastardizing the SS over the last 10 years, some think HHR or Malibu.
This just adds to the cheesiness and the bad stereotypes of some corvette owners. These cars have great lines and people constantly over accessorise them like mustangs. just look in the back of any ecklers or mid america catalog with all the bad jewlery and the lame members only type apparel. sometimes less is better!!!

LOL... no..i didnt forget, i bought my first new car in 1967... a Camaro...droped a 327/350 vette motor in it... but times have changed.......and only us baby boomers remember those days...

I agree with you. When I see "SS" on GM vehicles, I realize it's just a COSMETIC difference.....you know...all show and no go (as we used to say). Although that appears to be a changing philosophy, now.
I guess great minds think alike. I'm still amazed your post appeared when I was getting photos ready to post.
Technically I think they are supposed to go on the rocker panel like mine, but who cares when you have an SS Vette.
For all the members claiming the SS logo doesn't go with Vettes and performance I will direct them to page 132 of the latest Eckler's catalog.
That 1957 SS is the first vehicle from Chevy to carry the SS designation. It's a shame the ZR1 didn't use the SS logo.

Logo is upside down. They come off easy with a heat gun.
