Most seem to be happy with Bilstein Sport although a few have gone to Koni FSD for double the price. Don't do the Z51's, they are not the best choice, crude and harsh by most accounts.
I went with the Koni FSD's, ( 08 base mn6 ) with Z51 sways and a E2 tunnel Plate. Car is nothing close to the Base it was. I have driven the Z51 and found it a bit to harsh. Not sure about the Bilsteins. Am very happy with the FSD's.
I'm very happy with Z51 sways, Pfadt Poly bushings, and Koni FSD's.
The Pfadt Bushings really enhance the Z51 sways and they're only $30.
There are many threads on the FSD's, and yes, they are expensive, but worth it IMO.
Good luck
Do either the Bilsteins or the Konis. The Z51 shocks are harsh and skittery...not nearly as sophisticated a design. I love my Bilsteins and they were $300 shipped for the four. Konis are said to be great also...but twice the price at least. I have been in friend's cars with them and to me, they are no better than the Bilsteins. Many here love them though, so I'm not criticising.
I have a base C6 08 M6 coup. I've added Z51 sways. Nice difference with that. I'm now considering upgrading to Z51 Rotors and brake pads.
How about shocks? What's better, Bilistines or GM Z51 shocks.
Thanks, Dewman
Bilstein shocks are far far and away better than the Sachs Z51 shocks. Koni is good too, though much more expensive. I wouldn't switch to the Z51 rotors and pads unless you just feel the need to have a cheese grater look and love the sound of squeaking brakes. Drilled rotors inherently have severe stress risers and will crack under heavy track use. If you need new rotors, get a set of the NAPA rotors, solid and only $35 each. They last. If you need pads, get a set of Hawk pads.
How about Z06 brake ducts, part #15829066 and 15829067 for other side. Cut 4 3/4" hole in inner fender and cut out upwards and toward frame. You need to take off wheel, remove inner fender, drill hole in frame. Cut upward and toward frame, second side is a piece of cake, cost of parts is $13 at dealer. Bye,
