I just changed out my clutch fluid. I drove about 5 miles and the check engine light came on. Checked the fluid and noticed it was above the max line.
I removed some fluid and still the check engine light is on.
Could the fluid level have caused this? If so, how do I reset?
Thanks
I don't know if high fluid level would set a code. If it did and you corrected it then something like 10+ ignition cycles should clear the code and CEL. If you have access to an Autozone store they have code readers you can borrow to read the code and clear it. Good luck, please let us know what you find out.
Similar thing happened to me several months ago. Work was done on my transmission, engine light came on. It was on steady, not blinking. Local dealers shop read code and cleared it. Been fine since then.

There are no clutch fluid sensor of any kind that I am aware of-I think the CEL and your fluid change are coincidental. Anyway, have the CEL checked out ASAP!
mines been on since new. two years now, no problems. Had it read a time or two, it throws the CAGS code and since i have the skip shift I am assuming thats it but i don't really care.

Autozone will read the code but will not clear it...Good Luck
These cars are so sophisticated now that codes sometimes just appear with no apparent reason. Just get a code read on it and see what it is. I'll bet it has nothing to do with changing the fluid. Good luck bro, let us know what happens.

Some will and some won't. All depends on how "****" the person is at Autozone that hooks up the reader. I was told they are not allowed to clear any codes.
I solved this problem and inconvenience by buying my own reader.

My CAGS tossed a code 3 days after I had the car. It was a bad connection on the bottom of the fuse box. The tech found it, plugged it in as it should have been connected and the code is gone.
Dude, no one in their right mind runs for 2 years with a CEL lit! Suppose, just suppose, something ELSE is wrong and you're assuming that it is the CAGs light and you are running up a $3,000 repair bill due to lack of maintenance?
Suggestion? Get the silly CAGs light troubleshot and corrected so the CEL means something to you when it's lit.
