Default maintainance question...

i know its a silly question but i would like your advice...
ok. my car just reached the 12k miles mark...I plan to change the oil and check the air filter...what else should i change or check in my car.

hmm .. brake pads .. steering fluid

thats all i can come up with right now

I think he was just mentioning an oil change is due. I agree, I hope it is not the first oil change.

I know. I was jus' funnin'. I shoulda put a smiley in that first post. But I figgered he'd unnerstan' me.

Hey OP! Ck the cabin air filter. If you have man trans, you don't have to open, but look at the clutch fluid reservoir to see if the fluid's gotten dark in color.

Someone else will chime in, I'm sure...

Always check all fluids at every oil change. Change cabin filter at least once a year.

Oh man, its gonna be dirty! The door is on the firewall just above the battery. Three clips hold the door on.

VERY IMPORTANT: If you have an MN6,, check your clutch fluid. If its anything but clear its time for you to change the fluid. So many people overlook the clutch fluid.

Agree: The clutch fluid should look like Coors Light and not Amber Bach or darker.

Also if its a MN6 change the trans fliud. It seems that there is a lot of contaminants in it.
You might want to check your air filter as well.

Where can I find the Cabin air filter cheaper, because my local chevy dealer is selling it for $65.

I'm having the tires rebalanced tomorrow with my oil change (11k miles). I figure at $500 a pop it is better to take care of them real good.
