Onstar Volume Control info
On my '08 with stock non-nav non-bose radio, the Onstar volume level resets to a preset level every time there is a new turn-by-turn direction instruction. Most of the time in the freeway it is very loud and scares the hell out of me. I have noticed that turning the volume **** at that moment has only momentary effect. On the next instruction the volume level again sets to a pre-defined hi level.
Recently I found out that the only way I can control this is by setting the "Automatic Volume" Auto button to MIN or OFF setting. Then at freeway speeds, the Onstar instruction starts at lower volume.
Not in the manual. I swear I looked.
