When I open the rear hatch I hear a gasket/plastic squeak like sound up at the hinges. The dealer replaced the weather stripping but it still makes the same noise. They then checked the new vettes on the lot and several made the same noise. They kept my car a few extra hours and had GM on the phone but were unable to figure it out.
Is anyone else hearing this noise? Has anyone else had it taken care of successfully?
I've never heard the noise you describe. I've had 3 C6 coupes, 05, 07 and now an 09. I just went out to the garage and listened very carefully. It was perfectly quiet.
What kind of temperatures are you dealing with. Cold or warm can affect things, such as the struts mentioned.
I am in Florida, but warm or cool it still makes the noise. I have 19,000 miles (yeah, no garage queen here) and it just started making the noise a few months ago. I can live with it but I find it funny that the first time I reported it the dealer said they fixed it. So this time they struggle with it for a day and say "we have no idea".
I also had to have my climate control buttons replaced. The defroster button would not push in. They had to tear the dash apart for that and I was really thinking hard about just living with the problem but they fixed it and no damage to the car. It was a good day (two actually) at the dealer.
