Default Battery Maintainer Hook-up

Just bought an almost new (1500 mi) 05 vert and have a question about the best way to connect a battery maintainer to prevent DBS. I have a Sears 2 amp maintainer that can be connected in several ways -alligator cllips, ring connectors for permanent battery attachment, and cigarette lighter plug. With my C4 I just plugged into the cigarette lighter each time I came in and worked fine. Can I do this with the C6 or will the back feed fry something? Suggestions?

Not sure of the lighter, but the old way will not harm anything. I just put it on a cheap lamp timer & let it charge 5 hours at night.

I use my CTEK charger in the lighter socket and haven't had any issues. In fact, it works very well!

I have been using the aux plug in the console for about 8 years now (C5 and C6)..... No issues at all.

This makes it too easy to keep her on the tender while she's in the garage.

Good to know as I just got a Battery Tender. I'm fine with the regular hookup via the clips to the terminals. One dead battery was enough to make me spend the money on the charger and an electrician to wire up the garage stall where the car is parked. No more DBS!
