Default Dumb question...

how do i know if i have the F55 or Z51 suspension? im the second owner so i didnt buy it new. The F55 has the suspension control in the middle of the console right? i don't have that so i'm guessing Z51?

Are your rotors cross drilled? If so, you have the z51.

The RPO codes for all the options are listed on a white sticker on the inside left edge of the glove compartment door. There will be a "Z51" on that sticker if your car has the Z51 option.

Default Stop it; I can't stand it...

Z51's have a badge that says Z51 so that everyone will know it is a Z51. A Z51 is Z45 better than a Z06 cause it's a higher number; hince, this is why all the Z51 owners put that badge on them.

BTW: I have a Z51 without a badge so I guess mine really aint a Z51 but just a .. mmmmm .. Z.

The F55 has a dial on the console with tour/sport options. You don't have that, so you either have Z51 or standard suspension.

So I guess that puts the ZR-1 at the bottom of the list.

Actually, the Z55 (F55 w/Z51 sways) is the best cause it is the highest number!

The OP had already ruled out F55 as he doesn't have the control switch on his center console.

Default I have a Z55!

I have a '06 C6 A6 F55 that has been outfitted with Z51 sway bars and Z06 brake ducts. Gosh, that ought to make me better than a Z51 because now I'm a baby ZR1!

Not true. F55's have crossed drilled rotors too, at least on my year ('07)

And this is one of the most incorrect statements posted on this forum since F55 has the exact same brakes as the Z51.

The best way is to look for the Z51 code in the glove box. If you are mechanically inclined there will also be some additional coolers in the engine bay.

Drive down a somewhat bad road? Is it rough, then you have Z51. Otherwise you have base if there isn't a select **** on the console for F55.

The only way someone can tell a Z51 car from the outside is because the sway bars are thicker but this is also a simple upgrade for the F55. That is unless the Z51 owner is so proud of his option, he put a badge on the fender stating it is a Z51. Ah, but it is a performance option so I guess I should put a NPP badge on mine.

Don't forget the base suspension. This guy may have the base suspension. My guess is the base outsells both options.
