I have a 2005 MN6. The screw that holds the shift **** in has fallen out and gotten lost. The dealers want to sell me an entire new shift ****. The only information that anyone seems to have is that it is a Torx T25 but I believe that is the screw driver head "size" and not the actual screw size.
Does any one know exactly what size the screw is or has one left from a replacement that they could send to me.
Oh, that's right, I forgot about that. Could take the shifter out - but that seems just a bit extreme. With that I'd probably just purchase a few different set screws to see what worked. Alternatively - get the tap set out..........

I had the exact same issue a couple weeks ago. I'm pretty sure it was M5x0.8 or M5x1.0 (only one of those two actually exists in the real), but I can't find the paper I wrote it on. :-(
If my memory fails me, I called my local dealer parts guy and asked him to look up the screw. It was like $7, but more importantly it had the size and thread in the description. That's how I found it.
Hmmmm....I wonder where the OEM screw went? If it just fell down inside the console, it's not a huge deal to remove the center console and take a look/see. There are instructions on the Forum from others who have installed shifters etc.
