Default Accessory plug in memory maintainer

Has anyone used this gizmo?

Prevents loss of computer and radio codes when your car's battery is disconnected. Plugs into lighter socket--uses a 9-volt battery (not included). $9.95

Save your $9.95 for something that's actually useful.

The C6 Corvette stores computer codes and radio presets in NON-volatile memory (NVRAM). That means you can disconnect the battery, remove it, juggle it with a couple of running chainsaws, and you still won't lose any computer or radio settings.

It also means that the aggravating mantra repeated again and again here to disconnect the battery to "reset" the computer is a bunch of BS.

The only thing that requires the battery to retain its settings is the window indexing memory, and that takes all of 3 seconds to restore once power is back.

Not necessary for the C6.

That's what everyone here with experience has posted.

Might take 6 seconds, since you have to do both windows.

Thanks for the info guys. I just didn't want to loose my radio stations, seat memory, etc. if I disconnected the battery.

Seem it isn't needed for the C6.
