Washed my 07 Vert today and tried to open the fuel door during the drying process. The button would not work. I used a leaf blower to get the water out of the crevices and tried again to no avail. I then remembered about the emergency release cable in the trunk. That worked. However, now my fuel door button does not seem to work at all. Any advice?
I searched the forum and could not find too much on this topic.
I had a similar problem on my C5. After getting the door open, I sprayed a bit of WD40 on the plunger and worked it in and out a few times; no problems after that.
Hope yours get fixed as easily!
Its a good idea to put the top up on a vert before washing it. Otherwise your gas door button could get wet and stop working.
Now I hope you know that. So the button is probably just fine. The fuse for the gas door solenoid may have blown. Check the fuse block for a blown fuse.
