It comes down to a couple of things: how thick is the film and can you find a GOOD installer? Always nice to know we have more options out there. Thanks for the link.

I had it installed this winter. This stuff is great! A lot has to do with the installer. The guy that did mine came out to the house and installed in my heated garage. He installed on the front bumper (we even removed the emblem and replaced with a new one so there would be no cut-out) the tops of the fenders, 12+ inches on the hood, mirrors, behind the front wheels and in front and behind the rear wheels.

Great stuff...I had mine installed the day after delivery of my Vette. It's about as flawless of an installation that I believe there can be. Same as above, the guy came to my house to install it. He was referred to me by another Forum member. 12,000 miles on my car now and the front end and mirrors are chip free.

Great stuff. Much better then repainting. It does scratch though. But, it can be replaced in sections.

That's one of the main reason why I went with 3M. It has a layer of clear coat that keeps the film looking shiny for a long time. Venture Shield may look good at the beginning but will age very quickly especially if you drive/wash your car on regular basis. This stuff scratches very easily. Speaking from experience here, wasted $600 on Venture Shield and had it just replaced with 3M.

3M will also turn yellow quicker. I had it on a 2003 Trailblazer, by 2005 it looked like crap.

For the money VentureShield protects much better. Better a scratch on that then the paint. The front ends are just so vulnerable to scratches and chips. I cannot believe how strong this stuff is.
