Default Quick question.

Hello guys, I just purchased my C6 on Saturday and it is my first time having a car with HID's and I totally love them. So I was driving at night and I notice that my passenger beam is a tad lower than my drivers side. is this how its suppose to be? Can they be adjusted?

Thx, Roy.

I don't know what the actual factory aiming point should be but there is There is an adjustment under the hood on the inner fender sidewall just behind the headlight area. Use a hex key and you can rotate the aiming of the beam. It is best to do it at night and in front of a large flat surface (garage door). The aiming range for the lights is 2" above lamp center point to 2.5 inches below lamp center point.

While I don't know this from personal experience, what I have read elsewhere is that the HIDs are terrible if you're looking right into oncoming, badly-adjusted lights. While it's definitely a diy project, I'd make sure you don't aim them too high because it could be dangerous on a 2 lane for both you and the oncoming car. The alternative is to take it somewhere where they can measure where the beam should be under controlled situation. In the distant past I have adjusted my own headlights.

On mine the cut off point is a tad higher on the passenger side. If you adjust them, take small steps, the oncoming traffic will let you know if you go too far.

For a car driven on the right side of the road ( as opposed to LH like England) the left hand light would be slightly lower than the right hand light if not exactly the same height. This is because the drivers side light has more impact on oncoming traffic. I say "if anything" because mine are both the same height and I think thats the way GM intends it. The drivers light should definitely not be HIGHER than the passenger. Keep in mind that your problem could be that the passenger light is low, or that the drivers side is high. As stated above, the HID lights are just blinding if adjusted wrong, so it should become obvious soon if you adjust in error.

Common misconception of HID's. While the blinding of oncoming traffic is true this happens from people who are installing afermarket HID kits in non HID/Projector housings. When they are installed from the factor or in the proper projector housings this is not an issue anymore than regular headlights
