certified pre-owned question

A Corvette was sold second hand as a certified pre-owned car from a Chevy dealer. When the person who bought the car sells it to a private party does the extended certified warranty follow the car?

Im not sure but if I had to guess I would say no because a dealer would have to check out the car from top to bottom to give a certified warranty to make sure the car does not have any issues. Check with a dealer to find out for sure.

The website says the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty is transferable, but it doesn't address the 12/12,000 bumper to bumper extension...

When you run a GMVIS it doesn't have a customer name, only the warranty coverage so I would say it follows the car, not the owner.

If they purchased it as a Certified Pre-owned, then yes, the certified warranty follows the car but it has to be transferred to the new owner (per the site). This is both the 12/12 and 5/100

the certification stays with the vehicle, just like the factory warranty when you buy a "pre-owned" car. there is no cost to transfer - that will happen the first time to take it in for an issue.
