I would guess it is because the WCC piece is a laminate (original covered in carbon fiber) while the APSIS is a carbon fiber molded piece (completely replaces the original piece). The molded piece would very likely be lighter (maybe a couple of pounds). If I'm incorrect I'm sure someone will correct me.

Apsis just posted a thread within the last few days about a customer brining some carbon fiber FRCs that looked horrible and they were explaining that all carbon fiber products are not the same. They stated the products were from a well known forum vendor, but didn't explain which one it was. BTW, IBTL

That picture on their site is horrible. A black component against a black background, and no direct light.

As stated in a previous post. The Apsis piece is a complete replacement part and the one from Wcc is stuck on with double sided tape. I don't know what the quality difference would be but I almost purchased one earlier this year. I did not do it because I did'nt want to pay $600 for one that is simply stuck on and could fall off. Also did not want to pay about $2700 after sending my rear diffuser as a core for a piece that would get pounded by stones, rocks and whatever else is on the road. That's my 2 cents.
