Default E Brake driving???

I have heard and seen people using the ebrake to drift, spin, etc. but I don't really understand the dynamics. The ebrake only does the rear wheels, but if you pull it and lock up the rears, how come I see in the videos the rear wheels still turning under power, smoking, etc. Can someone explain the concept to me?

They only pull on it to start the skid, and then release quickly. After that it is throttle, and counter steer to keep the spin going.

Makes more sense. I thought they were holding it longer. Seems like a lot to master and not sure I would want to do that to my vette, but looks cool.

Used the "ebrake" in the 1960's on our rally car to lock the rear tires and cause the car to "rotate" into a corner. We converted it to a "Flyoff latch", meaning that the ebrake handle would not stay up when your hand released it, it would "fly" back to full release position when you let it go. Worked great when mod'ed that way. big fun on dirt roads,,,,, Flat throttle into turns,,, grab ebrake for a half second, lock the rears with alittle steering in the right direction, locked rears turned the car,, big time ,,,, let go of the ebrake handle, its flys off to normal off position, rear tires turn again., throttle back to the floor,,,next corner. but I was much younger then
