For road trips is some kind of protection needed on the front? I see there are various types of bras and clear covering. For those that do not use protection and do alot of highway driving what is the condition of the front after a year or two?
I've heard that if you can hold a pencil without using your hands, then you need one.
If GM thought your grandma needed fugly vinyl coverings on her parlor furniture, and on your car, they would have installed them at the factory. They put a hard clearcoat over the color, that's as far as you should go, unless you want to look like a dork.

To the OP, it really all depends on your preference. The Vette is low to the ground so it will pick up chips. I've seen some Vette front ends that look like my face did when I had chicken pox a long time ago. Black bra is a cheap option. It looks butt ugly though, not front plate friendly and it is not good to get wet or leave on the car for any decent of time. Clear bras are 2-3x as much but you can't see them as long as you are not up close. Even then they may be hard to find. If you leave it braless and it is not a garage queen, you will get some nicks. Just drive into the sun with any car with decent mileage and you will see a lot of fine chips. That is what your Vette's front end will look like. There are may different types so the best thing you can do is search "bra" in the search box above and decide what is best for you.

Wow this is going up there with some of the most ridiculous posts I have seen. I dont know if I would be calling anyone a dork after making that statement.
