My 2005 coupe had the recall adhesive injected last summer, but it didn't prevent my roof panel from coming apart yesterday. As I took off the top, a loud creaking noise and loose feeling came from the front edge. I can pull it apart 1/4 inch with one finger.
I took it to my Chevy dealer this morning and they ordered me a new top with no problem. It will need painting and parts he said.
I've read about this replacement in the past, but has anyone had this done recently, and can comment on what to expect timing or problem wise? Will the impending Bankruptcy of GM be a problem?

I had mine done 4 months ago. Make sure that they tighten the screws holding the track where the windows slide up into while the top is installed. They chipped my window and it cost them more. They should also re-index the windows. My new top is now squeaking again.. Took 7 days to get all the hardware for the top. The tech has to build it from parts. I can't comment on the bankruptcy.
Why would bk pose any problems? GM and dealers need cash from repairs. GM will back their warranties. The outcome of them not backing their cars would lose them the loyal customers they have now.
