When washing the car after taking it out of hibernation for the winter, I noticed a 3 inch puddle of gooey blue substance on the inner part of the rear wheel, like it had leaked and landed there over the winter.
What liquid in our cars is blue aside from the windshield fluid?
The only blue fluid I know if washer fluid. The only other blue "fluid" I can even remotely think of is lock-tite, however this would not be in fluid form once applied, so I am lost.
Do you have the mgnetic ride control suspension? I don't know what that fluid looks like.
I had a torn boot that covers the CV joint.
The grease on the inner wheel was a slight blue/green.
When I removed the wheel there was also a little in the area near the bottom of the shock.
Get it checked out.

hmm, that sounds like it could be somewhat serious. Do you have any still left on the ground that you could put on a paper towel and take with you? Would be helpful maybe to the tech who's looking for where it came from.

that must be it. It was like grease, I only assuned it was "dried" from the winter, but yes it was grease - thanks.

had it on the lift at the dealer last evening. I went in there with them, all the boots are dry as a bone, no cracks, no signs of grease anywhere. I am wondering if it is something I missed from last year, doubt it but will check it in a coupl eof weeks when it goes in for the monthly oil change

You have your oil changed monthly??? Can I have what you drain out to put in my car?
On a serious note... What is the fix here, anyone? I've had issues with CV joints with FWD Japanese cars I've owned, but never really gave any thought to this being an issue with the Vette. Is this a case of replacing the CV joints? I'm assuming there's nothing servicable on them. Thanks.
