My base 05 C6 is sitting on the alignment rack as I write this. The original Goodyears wore though to the steel belts on the inside edge of the front wheels at 13000 miles and the front treadwear seemed excessive. Rear wheels looked good - probably another 10K miles left on them. Anyway, I've installed new Firestone RFs and the alignment machine basically shows the alignment is within specs. Can anyone provide me with the correct alignment specs for a base 05 C6? And yes I used the search option, but it didn't help a whole heckuva lot. Thanks in advance.
Thanks much for the link. The posters were correct - the stock specs wore out the inside of the front tires at 13K miles. Since I don't track the car, I went to 0 on front camber per their discussions and I'll see how I like it. I definitely will pay closer attention to tire wear this time!
if the insides are worn its either toed out too much or the camber is too negative. look at those 2 things as your issue and address it. good luck paul

Hi,I just replaced my GY tires with the Firestne wide oval run flats. I also had excessive inside tire wear on the old tires. I had noticed "feathering" on the inside edges with only 3k on the car and took to the dealer and they checked and said its "within specs"...ha. This time I found a great guy who has done allignments since the 70`s. he said factory range specs are just that ,a range. He then dialed in a four wheel allignment spot on. He used a computerized Hunter brand allignment rack. I drove the car when he was done and I was amazed!!! First I notice how quiet the Firestones are,and my car was rid of the side to side twitchiness one encounters on rutted highways The car now feels more "centered" with a heavier center feel on the wheel which translates into much more confidence when traveling at speed and encountering a bad road. don`t know how much was the tires and how much was the allignment...but I am very happy!! It was a pleasure watching this mechanic do the work and I told him so. He took pride in his work which I don`t see with the typical dealer techs. You will like the Firestones I`m sure...have a good day. gator
Any chance you could post the "actual numbers" from your alignment (they should be on a printout from the Hunter machine)? I'd like to see how they compare to the OEM-suggested range......
Enjoy,

I am glad I seen this. I had a four wheel alignment about 2 weeks ago and been mainly driving around town and it felt OK. I left at 4am this morning on a 10 hour Interstate trip and the car literally wore me out fighting it. I drifted side to side and and every little correction to stay straight resulting in over steer and required a correction. I am sure the drivers around me thought I was drunk or something. I got back from where I went and I am exhausted.
The numbers posted by TCKT are they pretty common settings? I have an 08 Vert and going to go back to the alignment shop tomorrow. The numbers may save me a lot of explaining my problem with he current number on the alignment.

I'll have to read it in the morning. I am dead beat, seriously. I normally don't get like this when I travel unless I'm doing a 16 - 18 hours. It about drove me crazy.

i did alignments for years so have a decent grasp on things. Going off your before readings i can tell you the tire wear was coming from the camber being at too far negative on the front. Even tho it was within specs a good alignment guy will read your old tires as much as the alignment readings themselves, within specs on your car just wont do. Looks like the addressed that issue and you should be good to go on the front. I would of set the RR camber lower but thats just me. For everyday driving the camber toward -.3 is better front and rear. glad you are all set, paul

Did you add an extra zero to the front camber readings?
For example, shouldn't the "left front before " be .6, not .06?

I haven't re-read the thread, but note the settings in this thread are for an '05. They may be the same for your '08, but don't assume it is.
